I am Puerto Rican/Mexican American and a first generation honors graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I received my B.A. in Cultural Anthropology in 2018. Soon after, I returned to my hometown of Stockton, CA to utilize my education, skill set, and love for my community to promote equity, civic engagement, and support youth-led initiatives. Since then, I have dedicated my professional career to supporting spaces and people who center social, racial, environmental, and economic justice in the fight for a more equitable future. Here are some skills I've gained.

I manage political
campaigns and use visual art and graphic design as tools for organizing.

I am experienced with voter data management systems and voter contact tools, including

Political Data Inc. (PDI), REACH, Hustle, Mobilize, and strategic field planning using digital tools. I am also skilled in managing traditional grassroots field operations, such as door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and event coordination.

Adobe Suite are my programs of choice for creating graphics.

I shoot with a Fujifilm X-T100, Sony A7iii, and my iPhone 13 Pro Max.

I am experienced in website design using the following content manager systems: Squarespace, Wix, and WordPress.

Political Campaigns

I am passionate about building a future of equal representation for women, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community in public office.

Camille led my campaign for State Senate and I appreciate her strong leadership, detail-oriented work ethic, creativity, and discipline.

She's the person to get the job done.

Camille's dedication to teaching/learning, leadership, and community praxis is illustrated in every project or committee she is a part of.

As the communications coordinator for Stockton Schools Initiative, she often made critical points that contributed to strategic community organizing efforts and executed effective communications plans to boost reach and gain traction.

Camille Zapata has a remarkable level of competency and adaptability that enables her to take on almost anything.Camille’s ability to quickly assess where we were at on a project and how she could contribute to the work is really impressive. She hit the ground running in a way that is uncommon even among those with more experience under their belt. Most importantly, it was apparent from the moment she came back to Stockton that her passion to be there for her community is what drives her work. She executes projects well, but she also does them for the right reasons, which is an absolute necessity in community work.
